George MacDonald Fraser - In Memoriam 2nd April 1925 - 2nd January 2008 The author George MacDonald Fraser was famous for the Flashman series of adventure stories. In 1943, during World War II, he enlisted in the The Border Regiment. He was assigned to 9 Section, B Company, 9th Battalion The Border Regiment and served with the 17th Indian Infantry Division. His experiences in Burma were recorded in his autobiographical book, Quartered Safe Out Here. Links:
