The Kohima Museum

Kohima MuseumThe Museum commemorates the deeds and actions of the British 2nd Division from 1942 - 1946 paying particular detailed attention to the siege and Battle of Kohima.  The story covers up to and including the division's crossing of the Irrawaddy.

Almost all the objects have been donated by veterans and their relatives making it a very personal collection that sees the battle through the eyes of those who fought it. The collection includes war diaries, operational orders, maps, charts, ground photographs and weapons.  Also amongst the 600 objects are letters, medals, uniforms, small personal items, and a small library of 70 books and pamphlets.
